Children learn by exploring their surroundings, developing a sense of belonging and respect for nature. They become guardians of their territory, connecting heart, body, and mind with the natural world.

Learning to evaluate risks in a safe way strengthens confidence, autonomy, and resilience. It allows children to face challenges, discover their limits, and develop emotional security.

Free and spontaneous play is the engine of learning - developing creativity, cooperation, and curiosity, following each child's own interests and rhythms.

We consider the child as a whole: body, mind, and emotions. Each experience integrates cognitive, social, and emotional learning, fostering balanced development and overall well-being.

Activities and exploration are based on the needs and curiosity of each child, where the facilitator must support the process and link it to curricular learning.

Arcos International Forest School is a nature-based educational community inspired by the Scandinavian movement of environmental education and grounded in the principles of the U.S. Forest School Teacher Institute. Our approach supports the growth of the whole child through play-based, child-led, and inquiry-driven learning in the natural world, with a strong emphasis on social and emotional development.
