Whole, Real Food
We value whole, real food that nourishes growing bodies and supports wellbeing. Our meals are freshly prepared each day with presence and care, using local, seasonal, and organic ingredients whenever possible.
We prioritize Km0 sourcing, working with local farmers and suppliers to bring fresh produce to our kitchen while supporting our regional food system and reducing environmental impact.
Meals are prepared using non-toxic cookware and natural ingredients, reflecting our commitment to creating a healthy environment for children.
From Garden to Table
Children at Arcos International Forest School develop a meaningful relationship with food by participating in the process of growing it. Our growing garden and permaculture project allow children to observe and care for plants throughout the seasons.
Through these experiences, children learn:
how food grows and changes through the seasons
how soil, water, and sunlight sustain life
how to care for plants and the land
the value of patience, responsibility, and stewardship
Many of the herbs and vegetables grown in our garden find their way into the meals shared at school.
Living with the Land
Our environment also includes farm animals living freely in respectful conditions, offering children daily opportunities to observe and care for animals while learning about ecological balance and responsibility.
By connecting children with the origins of their food — from soil to plate — we cultivate gratitude, awareness, and a lifelong respect for nature.
At Arcos International Forest School, food, land, and community are deeply connected, nourishing both body and spirit.
